For kayak anglers who want the option to run a trolling motor without committing to a purpose-built motorised hull, this universal mount offers a practical and sturdy solution.

The Wilderness Systems Universal Trolling Motor Mount is a heavy-duty stainless steel bracket that lets you clamp a standard electric trolling motor directly to the stern of your kayak. Built from 13-gauge stainless steel with a marine board backing plate to keep the motor clamp tight under load, it's constructed to handle real fishing conditions without flexing or shifting. It supports trolling motors up to 3 HP with a maximum thrust rating of 36 lb and a weight capacity of 45 lb, which covers most compact electric motors used in kayak fishing setups across Canada.

The standard four-hole bolt pattern mounts directly to select Wilderness Systems models, and can be retrofitted to other hulls with an adequate flat mounting surface on the stern. Radar and ATAK models require the addition of a Wilderness Systems stern mounting plate, available separately. It's worth noting this mount does require some DIY installation. It does not arrive ready to bolt on, and depending on your hull, additional hardware and a backing plate may be needed.
