The MaiTai Winter Flounder rig is a staple of Atlantic coast surf fishing. They are tied with quality 30 pound yellow monofilament. Yellow is known as an attractant color for winter flounder. The terminal end of the rig has a three way swivel and a clip for your sinker. Each rig is a double hook rig.
We have three variations for this rig. The first two have a pair of baitholder hooks dressed with yellow beads. The last has a pair of Chestertown hooks dressed with small yellow twister tails.
They work well with small pieces of sandworm or bloodworm, small pieces of clam, chunks of shrimp and small pieces of FishBites.
Designed to target winter flounder, these rigs are also perfect for blowfish, northern kingfish, spot, croaker, pinfish and other small bottom fish..
